Des syst\u00e8mes optiques complets sont fabriqu\u00e9s sur une seule puce, \u00e0 l&rsquo;instar des circuits int\u00e9gr\u00e9s sp\u00e9cifiques \u00e0 une application (ASIC), qui ont transform\u00e9 l&rsquo;\u00e9lectronique. Les PIC changent la fa\u00e7on dont la lumi\u00e8re peut \u00eatre g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9e, manipul\u00e9e et d\u00e9tect\u00e9e, le tout sur une plateforme compacte et stable.
