Making photonic integration accessible
Photonic integrated circuits (PICs) are changing how light powers technology. They’ve already reshaped data communications, but their potential remains largely untapped in other industries. While there’s a lot happening with discrete optical components, we believe even more is possible if PICs were readily accessible.
We started Syphos to help bridge that gap.
PICs can make optical systems smaller, more reliable, and easier to scale, unlocking new applications. But getting there isn’t always straightforward. And when silicon doesn’t deliver, other material platforms are hard to come by. Syphos exists to make PICs practical and accessible. We help companies speed up R&D, cut complexity, and reach the market faster, so they can create products and unlock applications that wouldn’t be possible otherwise.
TFLN for next-generation photonics
We’re one of the few players currently building with thin-film lithium niobate (TFLN) outside of optical communications. Combining semiconductor fabrication processes with a strong electro-optic effect, we believe TFLN has the potential to become a powerhouse for integrated photonics applications that demand high performance. With a growing portfolio of validated IP building blocks, customizable chips and packaged modules, we help our clients move faster and reduce risk, with solutions tailored to their needs.

Philippe is a former track & field athlete and holds a Ph.D. in silicon photonics from Université Laval. With over a decade of experience in integrated photonics design, not only does he master chip design, he also has a strong understanding of the whole integrated photonics ecosystem.
His hands-on background makes him quick to grasp technical challenges and turn them into clear, practical solutions.
Sylvain Boudreau, Ph.D,

Sylvain holds a Ph.D. in optics-photonics and advanced studies in music, a combination that reflects both pragmatism and creativity.
With over 15 years of experience in optics-photonics, he has developed a strong expertise in lasers, frequency combs, instrumentation, and photonic components. He also holds three patents in the field.
Sylvain brings the system-level view, ensuring that all the pieces work together in harmony.
